About Our Science

LKB1 Tumour Suppressor Kinase

LKB1s first interacting partners was identified by Dr. Marignani while a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard. Using in vitro expression cloning (IVEC) strategy she developed along with another PDF, LKB1 was discovered to bind to the SWI-SNF family member SMARCA4 (BRG1).

Neurodegenerative Diseases

The human brain has one of the highest metabolic rates in the body, consuming approximately 20% of the energy produced by the body.  Changes in brain metabolism occur throughout the aging process in healthy brains and in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

Single-Cell Genomic Analysis

Our lab uses scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq and snRNA-seq for the purpose of identifying new markers for the various cancers and neurodegenerative diseases.

Cytoskeleton

Our goal is to characterize these new interacting partners in an effort to better understand how VAV2 is involved in cytoskeletal reorganization that leads to cell migration.
